Nicki Minaj Arrested At Amsterdam Airport For Carrying Soft Drugs – Video Showcases The Rapper Being Forced Into A Police Van

Rapper Nicki Minaj was unexpectedly stopped and later arrested by the Netherlands Police Department at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on Saturday. The singer was traveling to Manchester, UK, where she had a concert the same day.

On May 25th, Nicki Minaj arrived at Schiphol Airport, trying to catch her flight to Manchester. However, she was stopped by Dutch authorities, who ushered her to a police van for an investigation. The singer was recording the whole incident through Instagram Live. Viewers saw her protesting by saying, " Why are you taking me to the van?” to which the police officer replied, “You are under arrest for carrying drugs.”

Despite Minaj's rejection of the allegation and her demand to be released immediately, she was detained by the authorities leaving no choice for the show organizers to send cancellation texts to the fans. The organizers, who had hoped she would be able to fly back in time, didn't even inform the fans till the last minute. Many fans were already at the venue when they received the cancellation text. Some fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the management, saying they should have been notified a day before.

The official statement from Live Nation, the organizers, said, “Nicki Minaj’s scheduled performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday, May 25th, has been postponed. Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance, which will be announced as soon as possible.”

As for Nicki Minaj herself, she was released on Sunday after being fined a certain amount for “possession of soft drugs.” According to the statement of Netherlands military police, they admit arresting 41-year-old American women on May 25th from the Schiphol airport on “suspicion of exporting soft drugs.” The “suspect” was later given permission to travel by the Public Prosecutor’s Office after paying a monetary fine.

Nicki Minaj is currently in a tour to promote her latest album. Earlier this Thursday, she arrived at Amsterdam to perform in a “Pink Friday 2” concert.
