Malala Yousafzai Appeared In Nida Manzoor’s “We Are Lady Parts” Season 2

As unbelievable as it sounds, Noble Laureate Malala Yousafzai decided to show her acting skills with Nida Manzoor’s “We Are Lady Parts” season 2. Malala said she had watched the show when it aired and loved how the makers embedded humor, cultural commentary as well and punk rebellion subtly within the story.

The story of the teenage comedy show We Are Lady Parts revolves around five Muslim girls who decided to build a punk band and smash all stereotypes. The story revolves around Amina, Saira, Ayesha, Momtaz, and Bisma, who are hell-bound on making it big as a band, which they named “lady parts.” In the second season of the show, the viewers will see the all-female band dropping a country song named “Malala Made Me Do It.” And, as you guessed, the song features the Noble Laureate herself.

“Noble Prize at 17; The badass b**** you have ever seen,” that’s how the punk band introduces Malala to the audience as the 26-year-old Oxford graduate slowly makes an entrance, riding a horse and wearing a white cowboy hat. To Malala’s relief, she didn’t have to say any dialogue, and we never saw her in the series after that short cameo.

In an interview with British Vogue, Malala said that she was a fan of the show’s first season and was eagerly waiting for the next one. I want young women to get a chance to reflect on the world as they see it; through those stories, we can all connect with each other.”

She also mentioned that it wasn’t her plan to star in a comedy show. “ I never expected to be in a show myself. I have always been behind the scenes. Now, I am finally showing my hidden talent.” She said in a humourous tone.
